ACTIVE (ACT) - $385.00 (USD) Subscription period: 1 year, on: January 1st No automatically recurring payments ACTIVE members are physicians who hold a FL Medical license, and practice in Hillsborough County. ACTIVE members have the right to vote, hold office, chair committees, and enjoy all other benefits of the HCMA.

ACTIVE - NEW - $360.00 (USD) Subscription period: Unlimited $360 due when applying as a new member ($260 / HCMA first year's reduced dues and $100 / a onetime processing fee). New ACTIVE members receive the same benefits as ACT below.

ASSOCIATE (ASSOC) - $100.00 (USD) Subscription period: 1 year, on: January 1st No automatically recurring payments $100 per year. ASSOCIATE members are HCMA members who fall under one or more of the following criteria: 1) a commissioned medical officer on active military duty; 2) a physician employed on a full-time basis, primarily in Hillsborough County, by any federal, state, or county government agency; 3) a non-licensed physician legally residing in Hillsborough County not holding membership in another county medical society and whose previous membership, if any, in another county medical society was terminated in good standing without prejudice; and 4) a University of South Florida, College of Medicine, Faculty member physician who holds a FL medical license or a Medical Faculty Certificate. ASSOCIATE members receive the same benefits as ACTIVE members other than the right to vote, hold office, or chair committees.

AFFILIATE (AFF) - $250.00 (USD) Subscription period: 1 year, on: January 1st No automatically recurring payments $250 per year. A physician whose practice is not in Hillsborough County. Affiliate Members receive the same benefits as Active members other than the right to hold office or chair committees.

DESIGNATED LIFE (LIF) - $150.00 (USD) Subscription period: 1 year, on: January 1st No automatically recurring payments LIFE members who were designated as such prior to 2015 will continue to hold their status. LIFE members have the right to vote, hold office, chair committees, and enjoy all other benefits of the HCMA.

INTERN/RESIDENT/FELLOW (I-TP) – a.) USF, HCA Florida Brandon Hospital & AdventHealth/IM only - Variable Subscription period: 1 year, on: January 1st No automatically recurring payments IN-TRAINING members of the HCMA are members who are serving on a full-time basis in an AMA approved internship, residency, or fellowship program in Hillsborough County. Membership will automatically be terminated after the completion of the post graduate program and the appropriate membership category will be instituted.
IN TRAINING PHYSICIANS - Memberships for USF, HCA Brandon & AdventHealth/IM in training physicians are paid for by their respective GME programs.

INTERN/RESIDENT/FELLOW (I-TP) – b.) OTHER - $100.00 (USD) Subscription period: 1 year, on: January 1st No automatically recurring payments Physicians in other GME programs can join for $100 for the duration of their training.

MEDICAL STUDENT (MS) - Variable Subscription period: 1 year, on: January 1st No automatically recurring payments MEDICAL STUDENT members of the HCMA are members who are either enrolled in an accredited school of medicine. Membership will automatically be terminated after the completion of medical school or the post graduate program and the appropriate membership category will be instituted.
MEDICAL STUDENTS - no cost to belong to the HCMA.

RETIRED (RET) - $100.00 (USD) Subscription period: 1 year, on: January 1st No automatically recurring payments $100 per year. RETIRED members are HCMA members who have discontinued practicing medicine in the State of Florida. If a RETIRED member resumes the practice of medicine, full or part time, his or her RETIRED status will be automatically terminated and ACTIVE membership will be reinstated. RETIRED members receive the same benefits as ACTIVE members other than the right to vote or hold office. (RETIRED Past Presidents of the HCMA retain the right to vote).
