Lindsay Hoy, MD

Join us to hear Lyndsay Hoy, MD, a board-certified anesthesiologist at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, share her inspiring story. 

Dr. Hoy was diagnosed at age 28 during her first week of residency with lymphangioleiomyomatosis (LAM), a rare, progressive lung disease affecting primarily women.

Despite the challenges of living with a complicated, incurable illness, Dr. Hoy built a successful career in anesthesiology before transitioning into advocacy and leadership in rare disease research and women's health. Today, she serves as Vice Chair of Strategy and Mission on the Board of Directors for The LAM Foundation. 

Drawing from her unique experiences as both a physician and patient, Dr. Hoy reflects on resilience, redefining professional identity, and discovering new purpose when life unexpectedly changes and the path forward looks very different than the one we imagined.
