Mike Atherton

Mike Atherton has become a role model after literally having his life blown apart in a tragic accident.  Mike and 13 of his family members survived a devastating boat explosion in May of 2009, leaving him and 5 others in critical, life-threatening conditions.  After losing both legs and an arm, fighting off deadly infection, months of surgeries, healing, recuperating, and rest, he had to find his faith and use his God-given skills to overcome adversity, stay positive, and learn how to do everything all over again, just in a different way.

His life may have slowed down, but he along with his trusted doctors and healthcare team, did not give up. Not only did Mike commit himself to walking again, after much hard work and training, he was able to run a 5K!
